I have always been drawn to the shapes and colors in flowers and plants. Ever since I was a little girl, spending countless hours coloring trees and flowers, I have loved drawing and painting botanical themes. More recently I have been creating mandalas, drawn by the meditative process of creating them and the flexibility in the patterns
I have always been drawn to the shapes and colors in flowers and plants. Ever since I was a little girl, spending countless hours coloring trees and flowers, I have loved drawing and painting botanical themes. More recently I have been creating mandalas, drawn by the meditative process of creating them and the flexibility in the patterns and designs that can come together to create an unexpected, unplanned creation.

I create mandalas using paint and pen on black paper, I also paint mandalas with acrylic on wood and canvas. The wood mandalas (like the one shown above) are treated so they can be hung indoors or outdoors. I use both acrylic and oils to create botanical art, both on wood and canvas.

I am a second grade teacher and I love working with kids. Kids have this great ability to create without overthinking it. I get inspiration from my own children and my students daily to embrace my kid-like creative energy and go where it takes me. I am a second grade teacher and I love working with kids. Kids have this great ability to create without overthinking it. I get inspiration from my own children and my students daily to embrace my kid-like creative energy and go where it takes me. Also, I am that person who has to point out every colorful sunset, full moon, and flower that pops up in my garden, and when the leaves start turning colors I just want to collect and admire all of them. I am overwhelmed by the beauty of nature; it brings me great joy and gives me inspiration for my art. I also have so much love and support from my husband, who encourages me daily to keep creating.
